Lotion Pump

As a lotion pump supplier, I’d like to share it with you.

How Does It Work?

Manually press the pressure handle downwards, the volume in the spring cavity decreases and the pressure rises. The liquid enters the nozzle cavity through the hole of the valve core, and then is ejected through the nozzle. At this time, when the pressure handle is released, the pressure volume in the spring cavity increases, forming a negative pressure. The ball is opened under the action of negative pressure, and the liquid in the bottle enters the spring cavity. At this time, there is a certain amount of liquid in the valve body. When the handle is pressed again, the liquid stored in the valve body will be flushed upwards and sprayed out through the nozzle.

Clean Out the Pump

How to clean the lotion pump? Unscrew the cap from the lotion, and then remove the dispenser pump assembly. Wipe the dispenser tube with a paper towel, and then immerse the entire assembly (including the pump and tube) in warm water. Let stand for 5 minutes.

Common faults of the Lotion Pump

The two most common problems with manual lotion pumps are that the pump cannot retract or dispense fluid.

If the pump cannot be retracted, the pump may be locked or the lotion pump may be stuck. When you push the pump all the way down and rotate it 90 degrees, many lotion pumps will lock. You can unlock the pump by rotating the pump back to its working position. Another possibility is that the spring may be broken. The spring is installed in the pump. To access it, you must be able to unscrew the reservoir from the lid before inspecting and repairing it.

Repair the Pump

If your lotion pump still isn't working, you may need to do a little more work. Unscrew the pump reservoir from the spout if you can. Separate the reservoir from the spout and remove the spring. Replace the spring with an identical one.

You can also replace the dispenser tube if it's too short or it's kinked. You can usually pull it off of the reservoir tube. You should be able to find a replacement at a hardware store, in the section for plastic tubing. Reassemble the pump and clean it out by pumping hot water through it. Screw it back once you're sure all clogs have dissolved.
